WELCH, Okla.—Welch residents have a new source for local news and information. WelchOK.com just launched, and it is a hub for news related to the Welch community and its citizens, churches, school, businesses, and civic groups.
“In an age where traditional newspapers are suffering, and in many cases closing altogether, we decided to utilize technology, which is relatively cheap, to meet the needs of our community,” said Tyson Wynn, executive editor of WelchOK.com. “We’re trying something radically different,” Wynn continued. “People are a part of the stories that are important to us all, so we don’t have a staff of reporters working beats. What we do have is a community full of folks who are increasingly online, and I anticipate being more of a ringmaster than an editor. I envision regular people contributing the news they see and are part of. Most folks can snap pictures and send email with their cell phones, and many can send messages via Twitter and Facebook. If people will use the means they have to get the information into our hands, we’ll do our best to synthesize it in one, neat location at WelchOK.com.”
So what news and information does WelchOK.com seek? Anything and everything—with one qualification. It must directly affect or be about the community and people of Welch, Oklahoma. If you have Welch news or information, please send it to us.

Good work. I have enjoyed this publication and the format is super.
I feel that I may, now, get my money’s worth from my internet service.
Keep up the good work. This is a much needed service for Welch.

This is a very nice web site. I learned about it through a post by Gary Wilson on Facebook. I’ll be a regular visitor from now on.
