WELCH—Craig County Sheriff Heath Winfrey joined us on Wynn in the Morning Thur., Jun. 29, 2017, to discuss the recent arrest of Welch resident Samuel Honeywell on several charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of his girlfriend’s 8- and 10-year-old daughters.
Honeywell, who previously was required to register as a sex offender, was not required to register at the time the events are alleged to have occurred. When Honeywell was required to resister, he was arrested and convicted for not doing so.
Honeywell is being held in Craig County jail. Bail has been set at $500,000.
Sheriff Winfrey also gave us an update on other issues with the Craig County Sheriff’s Department. You can hear the whole interview below.
