WELCH—Your Welch Rivals logged a 40-7 victory over the visiting Afton Eagles last Saturday to secure their spot in the Super Bowl this Saturday in Afton, where they will face Gravette Black.

Fifth & Sixth Grade Rivals Girls BBall Report 1/9/2011

First game: Rivals beat Bluejacket 23-16. Ashtynne Mills made 16 points, DeeDee Satterwhite made four points, and Abby Ishmael made three points.
Second game: Rivals beat Commerce 38-2. Ashtynne Mills made 22 points, Kacie Mercer made eight points, Kori Robison made six points, and Abby Ishmael made two points.

WYANDOTTE, Okla.—Last Saturday, the second- and third-grade girls Rivals teams played in Wyandotte.

Coach Teri Fitzpatrick’s Welch Rivals second- and third-grade girls team lost to Wyandotte, 23-9. Kaitlin Fitzpatrick scored one, Lily Johnson scored one point, Hannah Brewster scored two points, and Laura Seaton scored two points.

Their second game was a loss to Fairland, 7-6. Kaitlin Fitzpatrick scored two points, Lily Johnson scored two points, and Hannah Brewster scored two points.

Coach Jay Mills’ Welch Rivals second- and third-grade girls team had a lost to Wyandotte, 22-8. Ashtynne Dunkle scored all 8 points.

Their second game ended in a win over Fairland, 18-14. Ashtynne Dunkle scored 12 points, DeeDee Satterwhite scored two points, Lexi Winfrey scored two points, and Kacie Mercer scored two points.

WELCH—Saturday, in Rivals second- and third-grade girls basketball action, the Rivals team coached by Jay Mills topped both Fairland and Afton. Welch bested Fairland, 7-2, with Ashtynne Dunkle scoring all seven points. Against Afton, Ashtynne Dunkle scored four points, Kacie Mercer scored two points, Lexi Jo Wills scored two points, and Kori Robison scored one point for a 9-8 victory.

The Rivals team coached by Teri Fitzptrick defeated Commerce, 7-2, with Laura Seaton scoring six and Addison Chenoweth scoring one. They topped Afton, 8-6, with Laura Seaton again scoring six and Kaitlin Fitpatrick contributing two.
